Women’s water polo selection of Serbia is going to participate in the 28th Summer Universiade in Gwangju from 3rd to 14th of July in 2015. Head coach Vlada Bajkovic, already has a clear plan, and adds what is the main goal of the prestigious competition in South Korea:

– Universiade was not planned for this year. Despite of this, surely that is a good foundation and great preparation for the European Championships 2016 in Belgrade. The reason is simple, 80 percent of the team that will compete at the Universiade, also will play in the championship of Europe in the Serbian capital- says Bajkovic.

The goal?

– The fact is that the players through competition in leagues do not have many opportunities to gain experience. Precisely contest in South Korea will be the right opportunity. Gwangju will be a great filter for raising forms, test with very strong teams. The goal is clear, the right preparation – underlined Bajkovic.

Universiade has another significance for female Serbian water polo:

– This is our first participation beyond the borders of our country. Sure, it is a big step, because we lasttime took the part in the big competition at the Universiade in Belgrade in 2009 – said Bajkovic, head coach of women’s selection of Serbia.
